Dnosauria: Land of the Dnosaur
Evolution of the name: Dean -> Deano -> Dno -> Dnosaur -> Dnosauria
Dean was born & bred in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia and moved to Canberra for an APS gig. He defected to the private sector nine years later. He has a professional interest in information architecture, data visualisation and knowledge management and brings those interests to bear in his work for Berkeley IT. He’s also busy starting-up Technology.com.au; getting all the bits in order, writing and editing. He wants it to have a heavy focus on Australian consumer technology and how it’s used in everyday lives.
In his time off, he uses involvement in community radio to justify compulsive music purchasing and hoarding. You might dig what he lays down if your taste extends to blues, funk, soul and/or jazz; tune into Down in the Basement on Mondays between 8-10pm to find out. He loves Spicks n Specks, Rockwiz, his Shure headphones & the iDevices that drive them.
He likes taking a good picture or ten and shows them off on Flickr. One of his favourite photographic subjects is the street art he encounters on his travels. He dabbles with video, shooting and editing highlights packages of local ice hockey games.
He’s a fan of getting out and supporting gigs and events around town, especially stand-up comedy.
He occasionally finds time for video games and favours first-person shooters. He’s also quite fond of his iPhone and iPad and will one day develop applications for them rather than just sketch down ideas for them.
He loves ice hockey and wants to make more time for archery.
He tweets.
