Twitter really comes into its own with live events, but sometimes what’s going on isn’t what you want to talk about.  Solution: organise your own event and get your snark on. 

Graham Linehan proposed that everyone get a copy of The Happening, hit play at the same time and create an online commentary track.  He chose #badmovieclub for the hashtag and off they went.  The site now reports 80,000,000 related tweets in under 3 hours.  I would’ve joined in on the midnight (UK time, 11am local) screening, but I didn’t have a copy of The Happening handy (who would?) and I had to get to a very slow breakfast at Vie. Perhaps next time I’ll join in.
